WPT Borgata Goes to Pennsylvanias Hamnett

On Sept. 21, Pennsylvania poker pro Ben Hamnett scored his biggest win to date, winning the $818,847 main prize in the $3,500 buy-in World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open.
On his way to the massive payout, Hamnett bested a huge field of 1,180 other players – the second largest number of entries in WPT history.
The final table formed towards the end of the competition comprised Hamnett, Matthew Burnitz, Tyler Patterson, Ofir Mor, Steve Brecher and David Diaz, of which only Burnitz proved to have enough luck and skill to face Hamnett in the heads up.
However, the Pennsylvanian pro proved to be too well-positioned for Burnitz, whom he escorted home with a well-deserved second placing check of $488,850.
