One of the biggest surprises at this year$s World Series of Poker tournament was doubtlessly a young German Dominik Nitsche (21), who on July 9 took down his biggest career payout to date – $654,797, bringing his internet and live tournament earnings to over $3.5 million.

He did so by besting the 1,740 entrants into the WSOP event 59 – $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em, winning his first WSOP bracelet and his fourth cash in this year’s WSOP.

Before the end, he had to face a final table that comprised Jonathan Hilton, Alex Cordero, Sebastien Comel, Randolph Lanosga, Franklin Johnson, Martin Vallo, Jonathan Miller and Daniel Eichhorn, and meet Hilton in the heads-up.

The talented young man entered the final stages of the competition fiercely, and quickly sent his final opponent to the exit with the runner-up check for $405,156.

In his career, Nitsche became famous when he became the youngest ever contestant to win an LAPT Main Event at Mar del Plata, Argentina, at the age of 18.
